Works like a charm right out of the plastic bag and included carrying case in which it was shipped. Look closely at the product picture, then look at the Logitech or other "branded" versions of the same unit. Guess what the difference is? The price of the "branded" presenter minus the <$10 price of this logo-free device. They are exactly the same unit. If you spend more money for one of the others, well, you must be independently wealthy.
Other reviewers have written that there are no instructions included. I found a small insert inside the carrying case that was the instruction sheet. But, honestly, a person would have to be blind (or worse) not to figure out how to use one of these. One reviewer wrote that he didn't know what the button to the left of the screen blanking button was for. Apparently he never pressed it. But that button "launches" the presentation from edit mode into presentation mode (pressing again returns it to edit mode). Excellent feature that many other presenters don't have..
I've been using presenters similar to this device for almost 20 years. I can honestly say that I really like this one more than the first one I bought in 2002 (an "Interlink" brand that I paid about $60 for at that time and which lasted almost 10 years). Everything else I've bought since then has lasted about 2 years. I think this one may do better than that.
The "rubberized" feel of the exterior is very comfortable in the hand, and the USB reeceiver securely locks into place after use, unlike some of the mini-dongles that come with some other $10 presenters which can easily get lost when the battery cover that won't stay securely attached comes off. The battery cover for this device also locks very securely into place by sliding into a narrow channel. No, there are no AAA batteries included, but I have a supply of NiMH ones that I use in all sorts of things, from wireless mice, to digital recorders, to remote controls, so it wasn't a problem for me. It does require 2 AAA batteries, and you can get those for $1.00 at the Dollar Tree or 99 Cents Only stores if you don't already have them.
Thanks Amazon, for Prime and free shipping -- ordered Sunday, arrived Tuesday, next presentation Wednesday at noon.
