Tolino Shine u poređenju sa Kindle Paperwhite

Paperwhite ne podržava ePub koji je široko rasprostranjen, i zato treba konverziju da bi otvorio takvu knjigu, dok Shine otvara ePub. Kindle će da otvori PDF ali neće moći da poveća slova dok u svom azw formatu može da mijenja veličinu slova. Ako imate mnogo knjiga u PDF, za Kindle je rješenje dvostruki operativni sistem koji je podržan na nekim modelima (ima u nekim mojim ponudama artikala) ili prethodna konverzija PDF knjige u azw ili - kupite drugi čitač koji nema ovo namjerno ograničenje kao npr. Tolino (Kindle to ima da bi forsirao svoje formate knjiga). 



Tolino Shine ima i slot za karticu da poveća kapacitet knjiga. Za onog ko kupuje knjige, Amazon ima veću bazu knjiga. Tolino Shine je lakši za root-ovanje i mogu se instalirati i druge android aplikacije, dok je Paperwhite sistem zatvoren i kod svakog upgrade briše kompletan sistem što briše i i dodatne aplikacije (ako ih uspijete sami instalirati). Na fotografijama možete vidjeti izgled menija oba modela.

Dakle, ako imate mnogo knjiga u PDF, ili nemate vremena za konverziju epub knjiga u Amazon format, Tolino je u prednosti.

U većini slučajeva, bočna rotacija teksta za 90 stepeni u Tolinu daje dovoljno velika slova i ne treba izdvajati tekst iz PDF-a, ali on može takođe da na komandu uradi "extract text" (izdvoji tekst iz PDF-a) i da ga se onda uvećava po želji.

Sve na ovom uređaju je prilagođeno za što ugodnije čitanje, a može i da surfa Internetom (što mu nije primarna namjena). Nakon priključenja na PC preko standardnog mikro USB kabla, ponaša se kao USB memorija i onda možete dodati ili obrisati željeni sadržaj. Slot za mikro SD karticu omogućava proširenje kapaciteta smještaja za knjige.

Sa standardnim USB kablom sa mikro priključkom, možete prebacivati knjige sa računara na uređaj (ponaša se kao prenosiva USB memorija).

Puni se preko USB PC priključka ili bilo kojim mikro USB punjačem za mobitele. Doplata za USB punjač, 5KM.

Originalni softver na uređaju koji dolazi na uređaju podržava formate :

Na uređaju ili kućnom PC može biti instaliran Calibre program kojim se nakon spajanja na PC može izvršiti konverzija ovih formata (LINK) 

a takođe vrši i sinhronizaciju knjiga na PC sa uređajem, ako želite.

sa novom E Ink Pearl Technology koja pri čitanju daje najsličniji utisak čitanju papira, je odličan čitač e-knjiga i možete ga koristiti ukoliko kod kuće imate brzi internet i wireless router, te isti možete koristiti za kupovinu ili preuzimanje (download) besplatnih knjiga. U momentu promjene strane se vidi kako se čestice razmagnetišu i ponovo postavljaju u položaj. Ne može da se mjeri sa današnjim pametnim telefonima i tabletima, ali i ne treba, jer mu to nije osnovna svrha, pošto Tolino oponaša knjige i daje osjećaj najsličniji knjizi. Tekst i slike su monohromatske odnosno crno-bijele, sa pozadinskim osvjetljenjem. 

Sa inovativnim 6-inčnim displejom (E Ink Perl Technology) omogućeno je lagano čitanje i na dnevnom svjetlu, odnosno, Suncu jer ovaj ekran nema refleksiju svjetlosti. Sa veličinom od 175 mm x 116 mm x 9,7 mm i težinom od samo 183 grama, i ergonomskim oblikom omogućeno je dugotrajno čitanje. Punjenjem baterije (potrebno je oko 8 sati) imate dovoljno energije za čitanje od sedam sedmica (ukoliko je wireless isključen, i čitate pola sata dnevno pri slabijem osvjetljenju), odnosno cca 2-3 sedmice sa povremeno uključenim wirelessom. Tolino je dizajniran tako da vodi računa o navikama čitača. Za upotrebu je spreman čim ga otpakujete, nije potrebna nikakva instalacija softvera, niti Vam je čak potreban PC, ali ga možete koristiti za prebacivanje knjiga.

Tolino dolazi sa više od 250 naslova na našem jeziku. Ako želite mogu da ubacim nešto knjiga ili stripova određene tematike (istorija, beletristika itd...), uglavnom u PDF formatu.

The Tolino Shine has a 6″ E Ink high-res screen with 1024 x 758 pixels, 213dpi. It also has an integrated frontlight and an infrared touchscreen. The device comes with 4GB of internal storage, 25GB cloud storage, and a microSD card slot (up to 32GB).

The Shine has Wi-Fi for downloading ebooks through an integrated ebookstore that contains 300.000 German-language titles, and it can also download ebooks from the individual booksellers’ websites. The Tolino Shine supports EPUB, PDF and TXT ebooks, so choice of content selection is going to be wide open.

Other specs include an 800 MHz processor, 256 MB RAM, 7 week battery life, and access to 12,000 free Wi-Fi hotspots via Telekom in Germany.

The device has a standard memory slot (such as an SD or micro SD card slot) so that you can either extend the internal storage with affordable memory modules or you can retrieve data, such as photographs, easily from a memory card.

An e-paper display provides a high contrast allowing users to read in direct sunlight without requiring much power.

Device use an newer WiFi standard- 802.11n . It has faster transfer rates and improved security compared to its predecessors - a, b and g.

With a search browser application you can surf the internet from your device.
