The white JVC GZ-R415WE Quad Proof Camcorder records HD video at PAL compatible frame rates, and is designed with JVC's rugged Quad-Proof camera body. The Quad-Proof designation means that it is waterproof, shockproof from falls up to 4.9', dust-proof, and freeze-proof from temperatures as low as 14°F. The camera pairs a back-illuminated 2.5MP CMOS sensor with JVC's FALCONBRID image processing engine to SD Media Cards. It can capture 10MP stills, or simultaneously record HD video and 2MP stills.

The camera's Konica Minolta HD Lens features a 40x optical zoom and 60x dynamic zoom. Plus, there's an Advanced Image Stabilizer (A.I.S.) that reduces the effects of unwanted camera shake. The camera features a full screen 3" touch panel LCD as well. For connectivity, the GZ-R415WE has a USB 2.0 port for charging its internal battery and data transfers. A mini-HDMI connector allows you to playback your footage from your camera to your HDMI monitor. The camera features Intelligent AUTO, time-lapse recording, Face Detection, Touch Priority AE/AF, and special recording modes like Grainy Monochrome, Food Mode, and Baby Mode. Other features include a sealed internal battery design, built-in zoom microphone with auto wind cut, K2 audio recording technology, and a Super LoLux option that affords improved sensitivity when recording in low light.
