Novi aplikacioni modul proširenja za Siemens optiPoint telefone sada ima ekran u boji koji se može povezati ne samo na IP telefone, nego i na digitalne sistemske telefone. Sa novim optiPoint aplikacionim modulom, korisnici optiPoint telefona su u mogućnosti da dodaju veliki ekran u boji koji zadovoljava zahteve onih kupaca koji žele moderniji dizajn. Modul poseduje vrlo korisnu karakteristiku, a to je brzo i lako korišćenje adresara, jer omogućava pristup podacima bez aktiviranja računara.

Zahvaljujući velikoj tastaturi, biranje brojeva se obavlja s lakoćom, a preko integrisane Java aplikacije operateri mogu dodati nove funkcije. Modul ima web pretraživač za pristup internet servisima ili aplikacijama preko korporativne mreže.

Zahvaljujuci velikom broju različitih parametara, displej u boji omogućava korisnicima da pristupe i izdvoje informaciju mnogo brže. Međutim, ovaj modul proširenja poseduje mnogo više od dobrog izgleda. Karakterišu ga nove funkcije za svakodnevnu upotrebu, kao što su direktan pristup adesaru ne samo preko sistemskog optiPoint 4xx IP telefona, nego i preko digitalnih telefona familije optiPoint 500. Takođe, IP telefoni mogu pristupiti centralnim korporativnim adresarima (LDAP) bez povezivanja na racunar. Ova funkcija je posebno korisna kada se telefoni nalaze u salama za sastanke, konferencije ili recepcijama.

U isto vreme, korisnici takođe mogu unositi nove podatke, ažurirati postojeće i vršiti administrativne poslove. Alfanumerička tastatura, čiji su tasteri raspoređeni slično kao na uobičajenoj tastaturi, omogućava brz i lak pristup podacima. Phonebook Manager softver sinhronizuje unose sa Outlook adresarom čak i kada računar nije povezan. Naravno, ključni podaci su uvek sigurni zato što se svi podaci mogu zaštititi šifrom.

Integrisani WAP pretraživač omogućava pristup internet servisima i aplikacijama, kao što su vesti, podaci s berze, red letenja avio kompanija, vremenska i saobraćajna prognoza i telefonski informativni servisi. Čak su i e-mejl, SMS i drugi servisi za slanje poruka dostupni preko odgovarajućeg servis provajdera. Korporativne web aplikacije se mogu lako konvertovati u standardni dispej WAP pretraživača tako da se važne i kritične aplikacije mogu koristiti na svakom radnom mestu opremljenim optiPoint IP telefonom preko novog aplikacionog modula – čak i bez računara.

Modul sadrži standardnu Java aplikacionu platformu koja je kompatibilna sa platformom za mobilne telefone. Uz pomoć dostupnog softvera Development Kit, zarad specijalnih kompanijskih zahteva, mogu se razviti i nove Java aplikacije.

The optiPoint application module is a powerful add-on module with colour touch screen (320x240 pixel QVGA, 4096 colors) and an alphanumeric keyboard. The module can be connected to different phones of the optiPoint family.

Due to Phase-out (End of life) of the optiPoint display module, the optiPoint application module is the replacement product.

It provides more then all the features provided by optiPoint display module and has a color touch screen and an integrated alphanumeric mini-keyboard, as well as directory links and other features that enable the creation on personal converged applications.

The optiPoint application module does not support SIP hence, there is no support on the OpenScape Voice or BroadSoftand Sylantro environments.

Compatibility

The optiPoint application module is compatible with the telephones shown in the table below. IP-phones (optiPoint 410/420) support the full range of applications, the optiPoint 500 models just the electronic notebook. A local power supply unit is required for the module.

Basically two sorts of applications are supported:

XML, WAP/WML and Java are technologies on which 3rd party application developers area can provide useful business applications on IP-phones.

To support optiPoint application module with optiPoint 500 a specific patch in HiPath platforms is required.

Resource sharing application

This is a PC application, which makes it possible to use your mouse and keyboard as input/pointing devices for the optiPoint application module.

This application is not longer officially supported by Siemens.

You can use WAP/WML on optiPoint phones by an optiPoint application module. The module has a built-in browser.

WAP technology is driven by mobile phone internet access. Although it has in mobile world a negative image (because of small screens and high mobile internet rates), the technology itself is proven.

Major advantage compared to standard HTML: WML offers smaller footprint, drops each kind of pop-ups, advertisements, etc. and concentrates really on providing the information itself.

There are many WAP/WML content providers available in the internet. Most of them are free and all can be accessed by the optiPoint application module.

ENB on optiPoint phones

Electronic Notebook on optiPoint application module

ENB (Electronic notebook, Personal directory) is the most often used application on optiPoint phones, used e.g. in combination with optiPoint application module.

The contact data are stored locally and can be synchronized with PC based directories. Directoty entries can be accessed directly by pressing the appropriate letters on the keypad.

For each entry 10 attributes can be stored.

For synchronisation with PC directories, like Microsoft Outlook a special tool called PhoneBook Manager can be downloaded below.

Number of entries:

• optiPoint 500: 1000

Voice dialing

For up to 20 entries an additional voice-sample can be recorded for voice dialing.
